- Air Conditioning Systems
At Cool Kenya, we don’t just install units; we design climate solutions. Depending on your building’s architecture and cooling requirements, we offer four primary types of AC configurations.
01. Ducted Air Conditioning (Central Systems)
The “Invisible” Solution for Total Control. Ducted systems are the gold standard for whole-building climate control. The indoor unit is completely concealed within your roof cavity or under the floor, with air distributed through a series of hidden ducts leading to discreet vents in each room.
- Best For: Large luxury homes, multi-story offices, and commercial spaces where aesthetics and uniform cooling are the priority.
- Key Benefit: Zoning. You can cool the entire building at once or use "zones" to only cool specific rooms, drastically reducing energy waste.
- Aesthetics: Only the ventilation grilles are visible, maintaining a sleek, modern interior design.
02. High Wall Units (Split Systems)
The Versatile & Cost-Effective Favorite. High wall units are the most common type of air conditioner in Kenya. They consist of a sleek indoor unit mounted high on a wall, connected to an outdoor compressor. They are designed to cool the specific room in which they are installed.
- Best For: Individual bedrooms, small offices, retail shops, and retrofitting into existing buildings where ductwork isn't possible.
- Key Benefit: Affordability. They offer the lowest upfront cost and are the fastest to install with minimal disruption to your walls.
- Performance: Modern inverter technology allows these units to maintain a steady temperature with very low noise levels.
03. Ceiling Cassette Units
Powerful, 360-Degree Cooling. Designed to be recessed into a suspended (false) ceiling, cassette units are a powerful alternative to wall units. Only the decorative fascia panel is visible. Unlike wall units that blow air in one direction, cassettes typically distribute air in four directions simultaneously.
- Best For: Open-plan offices, restaurants, showrooms, and large master bedrooms with false ceilings.
- Key Benefit: Even Distribution. By being centrally located in the ceiling, they eliminate "hot spots" and cool large areas much faster than a standard wall unit.
- Space Saving: They free up valuable wall space for shelves, art, or windows.
04. Floor Standing Units
High-Capacity Cooling for High-Traffic Areas. These units sit directly on the floor or just above it, resembling a tall, slim cabinet. They are significantly more powerful than standard wall units and are designed to move a large volume of air quickly.
- Best For: Large halls, churches, server rooms, and commercial spaces with very high ceilings where wall or ceiling mounting is impractical.
- Key Benefit: Accessibility & Power. Because they are at floor level, they are exceptionally easy to access for rapid filter cleaning. Their powerful fans make them ideal for spaces that get frequent "heat spikes" (like a crowded lobby).
- Ease of Installation: Ideal for spaces where you cannot drill into the ceiling or load-bearing walls.
05. Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs): Efficiency Meets Sustainability
In large-scale industrial and petrochemical operations, storage tanks often release gases—known as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)—into the atmosphere during loading, unloading, or temperature changes. A Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) is a sophisticated system designed to capture these vapors, preventing pollution and recovering valuable product that would otherwise be lost.
- Custom System Design & Installation: Every facility has a different vapor profile. We work with your engineers to specify the right type of VRU; whether it be a Vapor Compression Unit, Adsorption System, or Absorption System ensuring it is sized perfectly for your peak loading rates.
- Precision Installation: Our team manages the complex integration of the VRU into your existing tank farm or loading facility. We ensure all "interconnect" piping, sensors, and control systems are installed with the highest level of mechanical integrity.
-
After-Market Servicing & Calibration: Because VRUs often handle flammable or corrosive gases, regular maintenance is vital. Our service contracts include:
Compressor Overhauls: Keeping the heart of the VRU running at peak pressure.
Seal & Valve Inspection: Preventing leaks within the recovery loop.
Control System Calibration: Ensuring sensors accurately detect tank pressure and activate the unit only when necessary to save energy.
